Check In
Hello! In this newsletter (it is late–my apologies), I won’t be featuring my usual 3 books, but I did include links to sites that I think are filled with great summer reads and fun activities. I hope you like them and that it’s enough to fill your summer. (** This newsletter is for both June and July. There will be no August newsletter.)
And now, for a pic….ahhh… 🙂

Book Choices for June and July:
1. Imagination Soup
For the rest of June and July, I’ve included links from a few sites I thought were fun and informative. The first is from Imagination Soup, a site by writer, Melissa Taylor, who’s also a former teacher. She offers not only books but brain games, family night games and much more. Enjoy!
- Read Aloud Books
- Chapter Books
- Middle Grade Books
- YA Books for teens
- Nonfiction Books
- Word Play
- Family Game
- Reluctant Readers
2. We Are Teachers:
This second site is by a large community of teachers who’ve put together fantastic parent resources which include math, grammar and other activities. There’s a lot to look at–enjoy!
3. Story Telling:
And to end this list, I included the site, The Camping Family, which includes, among camp songs and camping food, some story telling! Who doesn’t love a good ghost story around a fire with a smore? There are stories for the younger ones and some that are just a bit more scary.
I hope these links provide lots of resources for you and your children. I’ll be back in September. Until then, enjoy your summer. Cheers!
Reading with you,
Maureen
